To get statistics of many people's thoughts efficiently, I designed an online survey. I made the survey questions in a reverse way. For instance, I first asked what I wanted to get from an online survey, and then made questions. And asked more questions that needed to be interpreted. By referring to the feedback I've received so far, I have been able to summarise what I want to know: What people are curious about a film or TV series(drama), and when before, during, after watching, and how to find out about it to solve it. I filled out the whole question, and Moxue examined the questionnaire and produced the Chinese part of step 3.

Step 2

In the online survey, I divided the steps into two, and the second step was conducted to ask what I wanted to know. Followed by the answer, 13 out of 29 people (44.8%), including multiple answers, actually searched for information while watching the film/TV series, and 18 people (62.1%) were curious about the cultural information.

Step 1 and Step 3

In Step 1 was basic information such as how often films/TV series they watched and which online streaming platform they used, and the results show in table 01 on the top. Moxue proposed making the Step 3 test idea briefly to compare people's understanding levels. She wanted to put short clips one with and without explanation, and ask them 'was it helpful to understand the scene better or not'. I objected for two reasons. First of all, it is too obvious that people will say that 'the clip with the explanation' is helpful. And to get an answer that cultural information actually helps people, it should be doing qualitative research rather than surveys. After the survey, we agreed to have a 1:1 in-depth interview, however, I followed her opinion because I could not convince her. Instead, I added a subjective answer so people could compare what they understood before and after watching it. As I expected, people answered that the clips with explanations were easy to understand, and some of the feedback said they had difficulty answering since the contents were dizzyingly dispersed.

When we analysed answers, there was some part that Moxue and I disagreed with. Moxue proposed to make a persona as a result of the response of 28 people. and I opposed it. The purpose of creating a persona is to generalise the target audience. The persona created by Moxue was so general that it can be explained without a persona, and I thought it was the opposite that I learned at MA UX so far. Furthermore, since this survey included Chinese and Koreans, we have only 25 survey results remaining. I thought that 25 people is a minority to represent all users we targeted, and I hoped that there would be no errors in generalising this. As a result, I used it as an additional means of understanding the context.  I conducted in-depth interviews due to the cultural information they answered being too broad, and to figure out what cultural information people want to know. I planned Korean culture and Moxue in Chinese culture.
